Kerbin / Earth

a while ago when i just started KSP people said that the landmass of Kerbin was based on the countries of earth shuffled in random order (and size?)

is this actually true? (yeah i know slow to the party but launching helpless kerbals into space not looking where you came from but where you are going is kind of distracting)

i kind of see the resemblance with the continent of Africa being the most clear, also seeing what looks like south America to the far west, Iceland to the south west, maybe Great Britain (upscaled to the max) east of KSC and probably Denmark to the east of that.

i still don\'t know if my mind is wanting to make familiar patterns or this is actually true, if it is has anyone made a map of the borders yet?

i would like to set up a research base in my own country.. but it\'s already really tiny on earth.. don\'t even know if it\'s possible to exist on kerbin.

I\'ve noticed the continent KSC is located on looks a lot like Africa. That\'s all I know about that though. :B

Only resemblence to Earth is that its green and its gravity..

As far as I know Kerbal is just a recolored and slightly modified cloud texture.. Strapped on a sphere..

I\'m with you on this one OP, I see a lot of similarities to earth too, just scaled down a great deal.

If it\'s similar to earth, it\'s not intentional. The map was not designed by anyone; rather, it was generated using a script (see this page).
