Sience

Recommended Posts

I personally recommend the first option, the [X] science mod.
Why?, because when you have a toolbar installed, you can add 2 tiles of the mod, where one of them is a little screen.
It pops up the experiments you can do at that moment which are installed on your craft, and you can immediately do the experiment by clicking on that text box, instead of actually clicking on the part on your ship.

Another option, for a somewhat different experience, is IndicatorLights:

It has no UI at all.  What it does:  It adds little LED indicators to all the science instruments, so that they blink at you when "Hey, there's science here that you don't already have, you should take a reading!'  (For example, you happen to meander into a biome where you've never taken a goo reading before, and the little light on the goo canister starts flashing.)

The mod also adds indicator lights to a whole bunch of other parts, too, like batteries, fuel cells, IRSU, docking ports, etc.  I happen to find all those other indicators useful (which is why I put 'em in there) ... but if you don't want all that extra stuff, it's easily removed.  Every stock part that IndicatorLights tinkers with gets its own config file, and they're organized in convenient folders.  So, for example, if you only want indicators on the science parts and not anything else, you'd just go into the appropriate IndicatorLights folder and delete every folder except the science one.

Also if you want to avoid having to click on the experiments altogether, try ForScience!. You just pack your experiments and fly away, all science is done automatically. It even transfers the data to your pod or container and stops time warp when there's an experiment available so you don't miss anything. It's great:
