Any such BRG mod? (if not = idea for grabs)

Is there a mod that creates an overlay for the bearing (camera view) similar to the compass strip I tried to illustrate in red in the screenshot? (not the arrows) If not that would be a killer idea for skilled modders to make. It would help immensely i.e when biome-hopping, and just to easily get oriented too.

Edit: I mixed up BRG <--> HDG in the illustration

The closest thing I can think of off the top of my head is NavHud, which projects the nav ball onto the world.
