Importing spaceplanes into VAB

I dont know if someone has already posted this but I just found out that if you build a spaceplane in the SPH you can import that plane and attach rockets and such onto it in the VAB.

Take the .craft file from the SPH folder and put it in the VAB folder. Open the .craft file and edit the line 'type' from SPH to VAB. Save it and you are done. This makes it so much easier to build shuttles and launch them.

If this is common knowledge then mods feel free to delete the thread.

There\'s more to it than that. All the symmetries in the VAB are radial, whereas the only symmetry in the SPH is bilateral. So for example, in the SPH you can put wheels symmetrically on the underside in a way that\'s right/left symmetrical but not up/down symmetrical (no wheels on top), then transfer it to the VAB and build a vertical rocket under it. It\'s not a new trick, but a very handy one to share.
