There was no Kube.

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Eve.

With regards to the cube in the middle of all asteroids, I wonder is this glitch has made the asteroid skin smaller then the cube.  If the camera clipped inside the cube, would there be a tiny asteroid inside?

It is also possible to find that asteroid in the VAB and the SPH. Go into advanced, then cross-section size, and you will see it for the Extra Large size.
