KSP 0.8 Re-Discovered!

I found out about KSP during the version after this one. :D Back in the pre-mun days, when atmosphere drag and mechanics didn't exist, and when there were very very few parts to select from. Unsurprisingly KSP 0.9 didn't catch my interest and I didn't start actually following the development until the final demo release of 0.13

Nostalgia...

Before anybody panics about piracy, 0.8 is a demo version so it is no biggie to go ahead and download. If it was 0.14 or after, then it should be shared with Squad so they can get that quashed.

Edit: And now seeing where it is, I will have a laugh. Of course there is no worry coming from there!

Apparently, as this version is so old and it is being offered by HarvesteR himself, it's perfectly legitimate, it is his game to offer after all, I don't know if any other old versions will become available (except possibly as part of a Limited Edition) and of course any version above the 0.13.3 Demo require a small donation to Squad :)

i don't remember what version of ksp i played first but i think it was this one or the one before. but wow a lot of things have happened since then.

would love to have a list of all release dates on every ksp version and what was added in that version just to keep track.

Oh dang. I just stopped by to see this and downloaded 0.8. Everything is so different, like it's an entirely different game! From there, I created a rocket and tried to fly it. I was so unused to the controls then, I didn't know how to get into orbit. But then I go back to 0.16, and everything is just the way I like it: a map, moar parts, moons, etc. And it was like retro, too! Now I can keep the oldest stable release of KSP and look back at it when the game goes further into updating. It'll be KSP 0.99 Beta and I will still have/play 0.8 Alpha on my flash drive, no matter what!

This is a treat - certainly something that should be saved somewhere for posterity. The difference is staggering - no map, no orbital information at all, no symmetry tool, not even a MECO...

I'm quite proud of my first attempt - I'm pretty sure I've attained an orbit, though I might have overdone it somewhat. My little ship is at 385,000m and still just about climbing. I was aiming to shut off the engines and coast to a nice 100,000 AP....
