RTS style movement orders?

Would it be possible to make a mod that allows for a rover or airplane to move to a point by right clicking on a location, like in a real time strategy game? It would make driving rovers less tedious.

I just wish it worked for boats too.

There was one for boats but hasn't been updated

License is CC BY-NC-SA so could potentially be adopted (note: Whitecat106 was online about 6 weeks ago so not very active but still around)
