Bill, Bob, and Jeb are no shows!

So I've had an interesting problem. Bill, Bob, and Jeb Kerman never show up in my flight roster. And that's too bad because I miss the guys. I currently have my game registered on two computers. On one of them, they show up fairly regularly. On the other, they don't show up at all. Help would be much appreciated.

Hi kaljar, you can get them back if you delete your persistence file, it will reset them to "Alive", or you can edit the file and set their State to zero, so they are eligible for re-selection as crew

Just don't use wordpad, it'll mangle the file.

If you're on a mac, TextEdit works fine too.

If you do this, could you also post the text for the 3 kerbs, their stats.. I can easily just copy paste and rewrite a kerb 3 times, but it just isn't fun with Jeb screaming his head off =/

I had a really annoying one with a recent mission. I wanted to put a kerbin mapper satellite (using ISA mapsat) and every time i got Jeb, he's now sitting bored in a polar orbit. I never bothered to install any parachutes since it's meant to be a permanent satellite. (i managed to get a trainee for the muner mapper).

Jebs much better for testing things like the SRB plane concepts than satellites.

I'm think of doing an ISS style crew change, though with less docking and more EVA.

Where exactly is the persistence file? I can't find it under settings.

The persistence file is in saves in the KSP folder. You need to delete it from there.

Hey, similar problem but I can't even find the "orange" team in my persistent file. I don't want to delete it because of ongoing operations though, is there text I could add to bring them back?

You can bring the ToD to 0 for each of them, or even delete them from the persistence file, and they will (maybe, haven't actually tried) be the first to respawn.
