Starwars fleet project (micro scale)

Inspired by the lovely Star-Wars mod for Homeworld 2, i thought that why not have some fleet battles in KSP without a ton of lag.

And so, i started to build a micro scale fleet of ship to have some real combat with.

Part-count and proper scale would be most important. And with scale, i mean scale between ships, for example, once i've completed the CR-90 corvette, i will try to scale the Imperial class so that the CR-90 will fit inside it's hangar as it should.

Tough some down scaling will happen so that i can keep the part count reasonably small.

I decided that a part-count of about 100 per ship would be a nice goal, as then i would be able to pair more than two ships against each-other.

 

IMPORTANT:

As you may have guessed by now, getting tweakscale is pretty important.

I also wanted the ships to be properly armed as otherwise it would just be a ramming war. So, BD-armory is a requirement.

You will also need to use some cheats, Set orbit and infinite propellant.

 

Because of this part saving effort, some of the ships may look a little thrown together, so don't expect any beautiful super detailing.

But, there may be a chance i will do some larger scale super detailed replicas of some of the ships. Tough i don't think i will end up doing anything bigger than the CR-90 Correlian Corvette (part-count vs scale becomes a real issue with bigger fleet ships).

 

Now, you might be wondering that what kind of ships may we be expected to see.

Here's a list of the ones i will be doing.

 

Clone wars stuff:

Recusant class support-destroyer. Done

Arquentins class light-cruiser.

Venator class star-destroyer.

Consular class cruiser. Done

 

Rebellion vs Empire stuff:

Rebellion:

CR-90 Correlian Corvette/Blockade-runner.

Nebulon-B escort-frigate.

Assault-frigate MK-1

MC-80 b

Empire:

Victory I class star-destroyer.

Imperial class star-destroyer.

Tartan Patrol cruiser.

Interdictor cruiser.

 

And here's some stuff i may do.

Super star-destroyer Executor. It's going to be huge even in these scales , but i will still try to make one.

Home-one/independence class. would be nice to have one but i fear it's gonna eat far too many parts because of all the dozens of extrusions/humps or whatever you wanna call those things that are all over those Mon-calamari...something ships. Without them it wouldn't really look right. Plus there's scale and part count to worry about, tough it's not as bad as with the Executor.

some other smaller cruisers, frigates and corvettes. If i feel like doing some more ships once the others are done and dusted.

I may even have a go at creating a couple of my own Star-Wars style ships .

It has all but one of the turrets (the rear turret is missing) of the Clone-wars refit (armed version with no comms dish array) version and the main comms array of the original version (unarmed version seen at the start of Fantom Menace).

@kapteenipirk Wow, i really like your designs! I was wondering if you're still working on the other ships you planned? Besides that, there are a lot of other ships you can build, so keep up the good work (looking forward to some republic/emperial cruisers/star destroyers  ) !  I recently saw an onder forumuser working on some really nice star wars designs. Maybe you can share thoughts with each other? @StinkyAce

Yes, i will be continuing this project one day. And, yea, there are dozens of different ships that i could build, but id rather choose the ones i like the most, so that i can keep things interesting.
