Turn down the lights?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but here goes: I'm running a modded install, and I'm specifically using the Optical Landing System from the Aircraft Carrier Accessories mod. Whenever I turn the lights on my carrier, the OLS lights are so bright, they wash out everything on the deck, and I can see nothing but a bright haze. Is there a way that I can go into the .cfg file (or some other game file) and turn the lights down, or is there a mod that I can use to change the light level?

Hey, welcome here, I don't have any experience with that mod, but to be sure; when you rightclick on the part inside the VAB/SPH, are there slider to adjust the RGB values?
If so:
1. change/lower them all a bit, the light will dim.
2. they are in the craft file somewhere, make a backup of the craft file just in case, open the file in a text editor (like Notepad or Notepad ++), search (using ctrl+f) for the part name and change the values. (not sure if it's there, but it should be my best guess)

If not:
Go to the modfolder inside the you GameData folder, look up the .cfg of the part, open it with a text editor, there should be some light module there with some values to change.

Hope this helps. :)

A quick look through the download archive (I don't use the mod either) suggest this is all done with a custom plugin. I don't see stock light modules anywhere.
I might be missing something obvious here, but I suspect changing the brightness of the lights (if they are indeed integral to the OLS part) will require some code-fu/knowledge of Unity.

@CaptainPanda: Your best bet is probably asking @flywlyx over on the mod thread.
