Safecracking challenge

 @Castille7 built Bill this beautiful safe to store, um, valuables (is there anything of value on this planet?).  I put a lock on it for peace of mind.  Bill needs help testing it's security and usablility.

 This is a challenge against yourself.  We're on the honor system here.

 

-Download craft

-make sure Bill is in the capsule canister before you launch.

-load him into the command chair in the middle of the dial, then stage, or vice versa.

-NO CRAFT SWITCHING.  Everything can be done from Bill's command chair.

-No peeking inside (unless you can't figure out the combo)

 Ok, the lock is just like the one you had for your locker in school.  Have Bill turn it all the way around twice fully to the right.  You'll feel additional resistance as all 3 wheels engage.  Set first number.  Turn fully left once then set second number, then go right directly to 3rd number.  Latch will fall if correct, or start over anytime by turning full right twice like you did at the start.  Door will open on it's own via terrible hinges if all goes well.  Retry as many times as you like, or until batteries fail at least.

 

Answer these questions

Can you figure out the combination via touch and feel like old timey criminals?

Do you think you know the combo now?  (just Yes or No.  Please don't post the combination and ruin the challenge for others.  Changing it is difficult).

Can you get the door closed?  NO CRAFT SWITCHING.

Can you get the door re-locked and combo reset?

How much did you cheat?  I don't care if you did, just wanna hear the story.  No spoilers tho.

 

 If you don't wanna peek, whisper me and I'll give you the combo to try.

Quick way? As in, run it over with a tank quick way?

Nah. Controlled SRB burns at the structural fuselage pieces that have the hinge. If the hinge fails, can't lock the safe. Unless its one of those that has a locking mechanism that holds the door independent of the hinge...... I might also take a shot with a tank though.

So, I gave this challenge a try...

...and the safe opened itself as soon as I hit space. 

 

Poor Bill.

 

So then I decided to take a page from @qzgy's book and just take off and nuke the site from orbit about 5000m. After all, it's the only way to be sure. 

 

And then I sort of destroyed the entire universe.

But that safe is now cracked!
