can i edit the part list?

hello everyone, is there a way to take a part out of the tab its in and put it in a tab I make? example=the poodle liquid engine is under engines,can I remove it from this and put it in one I create ,like space engines or something.i know I can make custum tabs but it does not remove the part from the original tab only creates a double of the part in a different category..thank you for your time.

I don't think you can remove it from the stock categories but,

 is an excellent mod for categories the way you want them. The more parts you add to the game the more this mod becomes necessary.

Sounds like something modders will know how to do. And so, moved to the modding subforum.

thankx for the info ,but that mod will not work on my version for somereason ,and it wont let me remove parts from a tab .is there anyway to remove a part and put it in another tab?

And why would that be?

Open the .cfg file and simply chance category = Engine to for example category = FuelTank. From then on it should be displayed among the fueltanks instead of the engines.

well that kinda works,it will remove it and put it in another tab..but I cant remove it and put it in a tab I create,if I try that it removes the part from the game altogether.as long as I use the stock tabs it works ,but it don't if I use a tab I have created..any pointers?thank you for your time and info.

ok let me try this..im going to use the feline rover as an example..how do I create a tab like the feline rover mod does? it has its own tab for all the rover parts regardless of what kind of part it is..anyone know anything about this?
