hraban
CSA Contares 'IND' offer a small set ISRO / Indian launcher and spacecrafts. Includes: - RLV-TDK glider - HLV spaceship - Parts to build some launcher Reference diameters are 0.3125m, 0.625m, 0.9375m, 1.25m, 1.5m, 1.875m, 2.2m (ESA Parts only), 2.5m, 3.75m and 5.0m.Inquiries regarding diameters are superfluous by the effort of simple head calculations or a calculator. golkaidakhaana
Any tips on how to fly the PSLV? It always loses control and flips upon first stage separation.

With a payload of 1.25 tons, a Polar orbit with 98° inclination and an A/P of 600 km can be safely reached. The test starts were performed with MechJeb. A 75% turn shape, starting at 1 km and ending at 300 km, was chosen. Please describe your chosen configuration and tell me how heavy the payload is. Please keep in mind that CSA Contares only works with KSP standard aerodynamics. Edited January 5, 2019 by hraban

Perhaps I'm just starting the turn too quickly or aggressively, as I'm at about 30-50 degrees at first stage separation, it also doesn't seem to matter whether or not I have a payload or what variant I use (with the exception of the unflown 3S variant). hraban
Even at an angle of 45° at the time of separation of the first stage, there is no problem. MechJeb (55% turn shape ends up by 160 km).

Is there any real way to achieve a low (70 - 200-ish km, LKO) orbit with the PSLV or should I exclusively use it for achieving higher orbits (MKO-GTO)? On a side-note, I don't really have any idea about the current development of Contares, but have you ever considered making a replica of the ISRO SLV and ASLV (heavy variant) light launch vehicles? As the name of the rocket family already says, these are designed for launch in sun synchronous, polar orbits which are between (real) 400 and 1000 km A/P. The controllability of the 2nd stage (VIKAS) is very limited. Larger payloads can also be brought into lower orbits with the GSLV, but this is not that easy. The GSLV Mk.3 (HLV) is better suited for this. SLV and ASLV are not on the list of projects to be implemented in the foreseeable future. Just curious, but how are Kerbin orbits analogous with Earth orbits? I understand Kerbin's diameter is 10x smaller than Earth's and its' mass is 10x greater, but I'm unsure of how orbits scale. With some mathematics an analogy can be made, based on minimal orbit with a residence time of less hours (Earth 100 km / Kerbin 70 km) and the geostationary orbit (Earth 35.786 km / Kerbin 2.864 km). LKO 70 - 250 km MKO 250 - 2800 km KSO 2864 km
Hohmannson
Those gliders look good and, after tricky elevons attachment, fly very good, thank you! I think it's the only mod with ablated single part spaceplanes, lol, it's really a thing. I heard you were questioning future of that parts. It seems they need only removal of non-functional elevons and maybe attachment nodes for resized(stretched by MODEL{}) stock control surfaces, colors match. If it was so easy with the flaps and rudders, I could have also supplied corresponding rudders. Unfortunately, this is not possible "just like that". However, that is not the reason why I question the gliders. The first point is the more than poor aerodynamic system of KSP, the second the effort to build appropriate models and individual rudders without flooding KSP with a variety of individual parts. The third is the time available and the motivation and participation of the community.
Perantor
This is a cool mod, and the only one that introduces some details of Indian space technology. I think that the Indian space program is grossly underestimated, it has very interesting rockets and therefore I paid attention first to the "Contares IND". For a personal game, I rebalanced all these details for x2.5 size and everything turned out pretty well: PSLV Spoiler GSLV Spoiler LVM3 Spoiler Manned spacecraft (probably a Gaganyaan prototype) Spoiler RLV-TD Spoiler I think I started using Contares too late, as I know that you are preparing a remaster and rebalancing of all your mods.
