Jr. Docking Port Issues

I’ve been having trouble docking my lander to my Jool 5 mothership. They both have jr. docking ports. They are oreinted correctly. When docking, I come in straight on at .1 mps. When I should dock, my ship gets flung away from the mothership.

I have an idea what might be happening, but I don't even wanna mention it without seeing pictures.  Before, during the attempt, and when it's flinging.  Just spam F1 while you're trying to dock, and show us the most relevant ones.

Can you elaborate? I can’t really set it up again without wasting a few hours.

F1 generates a screenshot within the game.  It will be put in your KSPFolder/game/Screenshots

Upload the pictures you need to post to an image hosting site, like imgur.  You can then post the image links here.

As far as setting it up, back up your save so when this is all said and done you can go back to where you started.  Load your game, and focus in on your lander.  Use the debug menu (Alt + F12 on Windows), and use the Set Orbit option to rendezvous with you mothership.  This will put your lander 150m away, and you can get right to docking until you get this figured out.

I know. My computer has 1gb of RAM and a Intel 3k GPU, so it takes about twenty minutes to unfreeze after screenshots.

Uh... honestly I'm not even sure how your computer is even running KSP.  It must be paging like crazy.  Even bone stock KSP takes at least 2 GB by itself, let alone anything allocated for literally anything else.

I double checked and remembered that was my old computer. This one has 4gb RAM.

The basic answer is almost certainly "too much stuff around the docking port". But other things are bumping into each other on the two ships just before the docking clamps touch.

Seems logical. I’ll try the inflatable docking port.
