ashrutoraman Posted August 19, 2012 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Hi all...i have problem with my spacecrafts names on orbit... evrytime i make spacecraft and satelite im saving them before lunch... and they saved as ''untitled spacecraft''... then im exiting game and going to spacecraft folder and changing its name there and re entering the game... im loding spacecraft as a my new name no problems here... problems happening when i took them to orbit... they staying on orbit as a ''untitled spacecraft'' ?... how can i fix this? or is there any short way to name orbiting crafts?...is there any mode to simulate satelit cominication ? or like that i mean im adding antenna to satelits but they looks like only visual not funcitoning actualy... how can i be sure they are on right angle and in action?i mean you know in real world earth and mars rotating and sometimes ground bases not seeing mars directly so they are using satelites for fix this linking them together so they can cominicate regardles of planetary moves ... so this can be adding in game or added ? or is there any mod can simulate cominication?is there any mod can simulate sicentefic readings like exploration probes landing on planets? or i want too much things ? lol looks like debris from spacecrafts is deleting themselfs ? am i wrong is there any way to save them... i want to create some debris pollution around planet each time i send things on space... sory im new i dont know wich one is aviable for game or not lots of mods are on forum but couldnt understand them completly or wich pulgins for what and search section is bringing so many result wich is not im looking for :Z ... sory for bad english... thnx for answers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EndlessWaves Posted August 19, 2012 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Click the box at the top of the assembly building screen that says unnamed spacecraft and it'll let you rename them.There's a max persistent debris slider on the settings page in the main menu if you want to increase the total rubbish that can accumulate. Before you save your craft in the VAB:use your mouse to select the text "Untitled Spacecraft" at the top, then press Delete to remove it.Now type in a suitable name for your craft (for example: "Explorer 1") and THEN press save.This will save endless trips to your SHIPS/VAB folder to rename stuff!hope this helps!Joe Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Newt0570 Posted August 19, 2012 Share Posted August 19, 2012 If you need to change the name of a spacecraft through the ships/VAB folder, you need to click on the ships file, rename it. Just like you have already. But then open it and change "ship = Untitled Space Craft" to "ship = whatever". Then it will show up properly in the game when launching.If you'd like to change a ship name that is already in orbit, you'll need to dive into the "saves/default/persistence.sfs" find your ship, and re-name it there.Alternatively, you can delete all the sfs files inside it. This will get rid of everything in orbit, landed, on solar escape, etc. You ship designs won't be deleted by deleting just the .sfs files. ashrutoraman Posted August 20, 2012 Author Share Posted August 20, 2012 thank you all for good replys... lol I never thought that bar can be editable text thnx for help shame to me also thanks for ''sfs files'' tips im already using ''MMI SatPack'' gonna try ''ISA MapSat'' it looks like our probes really discover somethings at last simulating it i asked this at welcome aboard post but did not get any response... repeating it here sory about that; there is a ''Electrical Energy Plugin'' wich looks like essential ? is it? and i realy didnt understand whats its doing? im using atmPowerTech v0.2.6Anatid Robotics / MuMech - MechJeb - Autopilot - v1.9.1 do i need to install it also? or in Generally; ''do i need to install plugins, wich is only Required for packs of each addons? Binky Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 The mods usually say which plugins they require, so check the forum page for the relevant mods and it will tell you if you need Electrical Energy, or Powertech etc.Also you dont need to apologize for your English skills because I (and probably most people on this forum) only know one language. Zephram Kerman Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 KSP is complete without any mods; nothing else is required. But the mods add a lot of fun to the game. Personally, I think MechJeb is so useful that it should be required. For more info about ISA MapSat, as well as editing the files, check out the KGSS Journals. (Links are in my signature.)
