Mun has no atmosphere. It would be even easier to do it on the Mun.

The whole point of using the Skycrane is because Mars' atmosphere is so thin that a parachute isn't enough to slow the decent down.

If anything, it would be easier to do it on the Mun because the Mun has significantly less gravity. Not because it has no atmosphere.

If it were to be a genuine challenge, you would have to get all the lander gear into a higher sun orbit, and then test a landing on kerbin (not in the same flight).

So launch one into a higher sun orbit, the launch a different one into kerbin orbit, then land it on kerbin.

Currently the rockets on Curiosity aren't enough to get in a stable orbit. This is a really early build of it, so hopefully by next update I'll have a strong enough rocket!
