I think it would take half of the fun and learning out of the game if kos or mech jeb was added into base game.   Most likely why it has been left out.

no its just cause a vocal minority throws a hissy fit every time its brought up that most people enjoy the game differently than they do.

No, RT has it right, sort of.  It has nothing to do with fun or vocal minorities.  It's what the original game was intended to be. 

 

As to the OP, the tweet/post they quote is asking for a mod to implement KOS.  Don't we already have KOS?  (twisted interpretation of the post, but that's how I read it).

But it can be done already, using just the mission builder.  Manley recently posted a video putting a 'craft' into orbit with one key press.

See the mistake you made here was that.

A) assuming that there was ever a plan for what ksp was "intended" to be.

or 

B) assuming that the plan was actually any good for a team of first time indie devs

Harvester (The original Dev) has stated as such before.
