On kerbnet, satellites and anomalies.

I need something explained to me. Anomalies appear on kerbnet as a question mark, telling you there Location. However you don’t always spot them the first time passing over the anomaly.

Can I simply set up a network of satellites around a body, go about my business and then come back and see what they’ve found? Does detection happen passively or do I need to sit there watching my screen waiting for the mark to appear.

I’ll try to explain this the best I can. (Some of this imformation is likely to be wrong)

Each probe core/whatever you’re using to detect these anomalies has their own detection chance. I don’t know if this is relative to the orbiting body, but every day random locations (also monoliths/easter eggs) are selected to be detected as anomalies. These can now be detected, but as I said, each probe has their own detection rate that only show their percentage of anomalies.

To answer your question, the probes do scan even if you’re not there, but if you join the craft again it will show its findings for that day (Again, based on its detection chance).

The best way I could think to find a monolith is putting a drone core in a polar orbit, marking the anomalies, waiting a day, mark again, then see what stays.
