Perhaps not the correct word but information (or directions) seems to cover it.

Not quite. Problem being, the riddle implies that it is dependent on other things, whereas information can exist independently, as a thought. Not a bad guess, though. And information itself will not *quite* cover this one:

Information doesn't quite fit that. Information will rarely endure for as long as it possibly can. It's often forgotten long before then.

As i said probably not the correct word. I meant (the) information that you can read on road signs for example. It tells you which direction you should take to arrive somewhere. Or the distance. Or nameplates on doors. Arrows pointing somewhere. A radiation sign on a vessel. Hazardwarnings. Traffic signs. Etc.

I just summorized it as information.

These are the two lines that stump me, I'd go with trail marker but I don't know of that having a host or lord, It could be like a cave or mine shaft I guess but mountains peak doesn't seem to fit that. If gravestone was close I'd surmise with graveyard or tomb but both usually don't leave a crooked path. Maybe a name.

Darn I thought I had it that time well then time for more guesses, maybe a church or faith, but I dont know what a grave would have to do with faith, it could be a book or religious text like Cardinal hinted to, but same problem.

Haha yeah.

Well, so far the gravestone guess is probably the closest, but it is (in a way) too specific. A gravestone won't cover all the conditions of the riddle, but it certainly covers some.
