My game lags for a while after loading

When i boot up the game, the game acts normally but after loading and heading to the main menu screen it lags for around 1 minute or more and then actually sends me to the main menu screen. Any help?

So what I’m getting is, 

games loading....

music starts up....

click back to ksp....

laggggginggg....

menu slides into place and all is well.

 

Perfectly normal. Happens if you have a lot of mods or a low end pc

Unless it’s actually crashing , your probably fine.

Kerbal answer for a Kerbal Problem.

This has something to do with the texture resolution. The game starts at the lowest resolution (it seems) and then loads the resolution you set it to, resulting in the lag. The lag is by far less extreme on the lowest texture settings, hence why I think that.

I guess it's something we'll have to live with. But given that the main menu is not the majority of the game, it's okay for me.
