Formation Flight

Thanks to a  little trick I learned from this video,   I got my trio of aircraft flying together. (L to R The Professor, Lerxst & Geddy).

I will be frank, these are very cool designs - almost like a combination between a cheesy space opera and something Gru will fly, but much smoother and sleeker. I think my favorite will be the Geddy.

Thanks for the kind comment!  I really enjoy coming up with odd ideas and then seeing if I can make functional aircraft out of them.

I've made a few planes with that configuration. I like the big wings because they are large lifting fuel tanks, so I tend to use them a lot which saves me having to add additional tanks.

The first one, Phlebas, is horrendously inefficient, but a lot fun.  The second, Groucho, takes the same idea and incorporates it into a seaplane.  It is not amazingly efficient either, but it flies really well and has a low stall speed.

Cool!  I once did something similar for a Kerbal airshow.

Those look great! By the way, editor extensions redux lets you use the offset tool without limits, and burn together (link because it's hard to track down a up to date version) or BD armory's wing commander lets you make formation flights more easily.
