There's nothing wrong with any of the conventions; it's one of the things that makes for great tradition and sentiment. Many of those names strike the same sort of emotional chords with Americans as 'Victory,' 'Nelson,' 'Cumberland,' 'Invincible,' and 'Hood' would with Brits.Besides, Branson's spaceport naming scheme is very simple and logical--name it for the country it's located in. Makes it simple for people to figure out where these things actually are. Beats the hell out of NASA naming many of its major centers after politicians. If you were coming in without any knowledge, would you be able to guess where Kennedy Space Center, Johnson Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, Dryden Flight Research Center, or Stennis Space Center were? They love to hype it up to get state funding for making jobs but its not that big of a 'space port' and don't have much staff.
