Loading Screen Stuck With "#autoLOC_(8 numbers here)" Above Loading Bar

Ahha!   What did you change on your machine before this started to happen?

You are missing huge chunks of files from your install.  This is not a Squad issue, there is something on your machine messing up your install.    There is some 3rd party app playing around where it shouldn't.

file size on steam said 1.1 GB so i can only assume not from cache. if I did, how do i not downlaod from cache?

If you watched it download for like 20 minutes or so (My ISP takes about 3 hours to do that, when it's not cloudy), then I'd assume you got a fresh file.

I believe it's somewhere in the Steam settings, or in a folder under steam. 

But you are much better off trying to figure out what deleted the files initially.   We can keep reinstalling this till the cows come home, but if it worked before, and then magically stopped, something deleted those files.

well everything so far hasn't worked, i don't know why this happens, i just want to play KSP
