My kerbal Is Stuck

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forum :)

I guess, the easiest solution would be to edit the savefile.

1) Create a new quicksave and call it 'stuck' (or whatever you want).
2) Open your KSP install folder, go to 'saves', look for the name of  your sanbox/career/science game and look for the 'stuck.sfs' inside. (just to be save, you may want to create a backup of this file)
3) Open the stuck.sfs file in a texteditor, and search for the name of your Kerbal. It should look like this:

		VESSEL
		{
			pid = d9db16a5c10846f4acfbf07fb650556b
			persistentId = 1872530801
			name = Bob Kerman
			[snip]
			lat = 16.193039823235367
			lon = -166.23873257919621
			alt = 1868.8926572128548
			hgt = 3.49451971
			nrm = -0.00551123917,-0.999982536,-0.00219368935
			rot = -0.16307424,0.0079834694,0.766606987,-0.621012807
			CoM = 9.82284546E-05,-10.6451797,0.00035572052

4) Look for the 'alt = xxxxxxx' value and add a few meters to this value. In this example: change alt = 1868 to alt = 1878
5) Save the file and reload the savegame in KSP
6) Your Kerbal should be free now and a few meters above the ship

(You don't even have to close the game for this ;) )

Without editing the savegame, I think the next solution would be to roll the ship around a little. The kerbal will not move with the ship, and will most likely pop out without destroying anything maybe hopefully.

My Ship wasn't a probe so i couldn't control it
