No, not in game!

I posted earlier that I had started working on a K'nex Falcon 9.  Well, it's mostly done, although I'd like to get the landing legs better with actual telescoping pistons, and get a deployable fairing.

I have also been printing a fairly detailed one, found here.

Got some side-by-sides.  They're almost exactly the same height, which was a happy accident.  Some printing issues caused a few vital spots in the landing legs to be weak, so this one (I'm definitely printing more) will likely always be displayed with the legs up.  All that's holding it up in the pictures is a little luck.

And of course I can't post a bunch of real-world pictures without Simon getting involved.

Not really sure which one I like better.  Obviously the printed one is much more detailed, but the K'nex one I made, and can be modified much easier.

What do you guys think? (Also sorry for the fuzziness on some of the pictures, my glass screen protector is a little too thick on the bottom, so I basically have to punch my phone to get it to take a picture.)

Both look quite neat. I think it could be a fun idea to give your knex skeleton a shell or something which you could then add detail to (paper or 3d printed, idk)

Personally I like the look of the printed one but I can understand the sentiment in liking something more you made.

Shiny. Small LED's in the base or so?

Yup.  The octoweb already had a small hole for each engine, and the engines didn't have caps at the top, so I didn't even have to modify anything.  3mm LEDS fit inside so perfectly it's like the designer had made it that way on purpose.  The only thing I had to do was remove a gridfin for the power cable.

That's good to know.
