A brick will fly if you mod it hard enough.

I have finally started to get a little bored of non-modded KSP (no this doesn't mean I will give up my vanilla endevours, it just means I will do mod stuff also). So, to pass the time (as if I didn't already have enough projects) I will now start playing with mods and releasing designs containing modded parts.

A quick overview:

- The Battlehog has been updated to contain weapons. Real, weapons.

- I just started, what do you expect?

SPH Designs:

Strikebreaker (6 variants) - A highly maneuverable fighter with a high payload capacity. Several variants with different armaments.

Gatlinghog mk1 - The A-10 with 8 missiles and a railgun containing 8 shots.

Missilehog mk1 - The A-10 with 8 missiles ... and no gun. The other one has a significant issue with the railgun randomly blowing up on landing (thanks for sinking into the ground landing gear).

VAB Designs:

I haven't made any yet.

Gatlinghog mk1

Mods required:

BEHOLD THE MIGHTY POWER OF A RAILGUN WITH EIGHT ROUNDS AND EIGHT MISSILES TO MATCH!

4 "standard" missiles - the last four in the staging order, closest to the center

2 "long-range" missiles - the two on the wing just after the standards

2 "special" missiles - the two on the outside wings, fired first

Don't ask me why they are special, they just are.

Takeoff instructions:

1. Full throttle, SAS.

2. It likes to wiggle around before reaching takeoff speed (approx. 102.7 m/s).

3. And it flies pretty well, flies even better once you fire off all the munitions.

Landing instructions:

1. 3 ticks on the throttle gauge. Drop like a rock however you want, but don't be stupid.

2. At about 300-100 meters up (from ground, not ocean level), pull to level.

3. For final descent (shadow bit basically), pull up and cut engines to land as softly as possible.

Warning, since landing gear like to sink into the ground and the railgun is so low to the ground, you may have issues with it exploding while coasting to a stop.

Missilehog mk1

Mods required:

X9GBx.png

An upgraded Battlehog, now containing 8 missiles for you to fire at whatever you want. 4 standards, 2 long-range, 2 specials. These classes are basically a style of missile difference, just so you know.

Takeoff:

1. Full throttle and SAS.

2. Enjoy.

We would like to remind you that the Missilehog has no railgun and you are to disregard any images of a railgun.

Landing:

1. 3rd tick and hold it level until you're low.

2. Cut throttle and pull up to have a nice safe landing.

Strikebreaker Series (18a, 18b, 8a, 8b, 8aLR, and empty)

Mods required:

The Strikebreaker is a highly maneuverable fighter with a heavy lift capability. It is easy to fly at full throttle with the SAS turned off and has the space under the belly to carry a large payload. There are currently 6 variants. They all have the same flight instructions:

Takeoff:

1. Full throttle, SAS on (takeoffs are less stable than it is in the air).

2. Don't touch the controls until you are moving at 60 m/s, then pull up.

3. For the heavier designs, you might want to turn off SAS at the end of the runway.

4. You might also want to turn on precision controls (you don't need them until you are trying to fine-tune flight maneuvers, but whatever).

Landing:

1. Cut engines, keep it level.

2. SAS if you want its help, but it can land without it.

3. Pull up before touchdown for a softer landing, SAS helps a lot with final touchdown (from keeping it locked at the right angle of attack to keeping it from rolling after touchdown).

4. The brakes are pretty safe to use on this one, but always be careful.

Strikebreaker 18a

8hPJP.png

The original Strikebreaker (shown in top image). Carries 18 missiles and fires them one-at-a-time.

- Warning! Low-end computers (like mine) cannot handle the hundreds of parts on this one!

Strikebreaker 18b

zdeAg.png

Instead of carrying 18 missiles (which make the game lag badly on my computer), carry 18 shots in two detachable railguns.

Strikebreaker 8a

mOQ6V.png

For slower computers (like mine), only 8 missiles on this one.

Strikebreaker 8b

HhUwK.png

The 8a with a railgun (loaded with 4 high-power rounds) on top.

Strikebreaker 8aLR

jYgu6.png

The 8a with two missiles removed to make range for 4 drop-tanks to make the fighter long-range. Or drop them as giant bombs. :D

Strikebreaker (empty)

KWx84.png

No missiles, but the pylons are still there, as would be appropriate (you don't take the mounts off when you take missiles off xD).
