I don't understand modding

I've been playing KSP since 2015 all stock. I want a more immersive experience with the game and would like to play with some mods. So I installed Airplane plus. I've followed the instruction on several YouTube and not all of the content featured has loaded. I know it's not an issue with my game version because I have checked that 3 times.

Welcome to the forums Spesh!

Well, one of the easiest ways to install mods is to use CKAN.

This takes most of the hassle out of installing mods, and does all the busy work for you.  

 

You also have to make sure the mod you are using is the correct version for the version of KSP you are running.    Having incompatible versions can result in some features not loading, among other results.

You also have to make sure that all the dependecies are installed, typically Module Manager and whatever else the specific mod requires (in this case Firespitter)
