Survey Missions

Why do people hate these missions and never do them? I literally went from having just enough in the bank to afford a plane, did like 5 of them and was back up to half a million. Maybe just coming from flight simming it's more familiar to me? Idk but I feel like they're VERY underappreciated and not that hard to accomplish (if it's because they're too long if you build something that can go mach 3 fairly easily and switch on time warp it's only about 20 minutes for the longer ones). Idk I've been doing these missions all day yesterday and today and the amount of money i have for what is really only a minor time consuming task kind blows my mind. Thoughts?

Honestly, if I want to flightsim I'll start up FlightGear ... besides, the unlocks needed for Kerbin surveys and for trips to other bodies don't match up too well.

I like the survey missions myself. Especially since you can often combine them with stopping at biome-rich zones and picking up a few hundred extra science points.

There are players who are very short on time, and they tend to want to be flying rocketships around.

But for those of us with lots of time to spare -- exploring Kerbin is just as fun as exploring Minmus.

oh i meant like the missions for kerbin only, the missions for the other bodies offer more money but i feel it's better for making money and not having to leave the atmosphere/orbit

i agree with this, sometimes i forget how much free time i have

but doing so many of them has made me more familiar with kerbin and man the level of detail is INSANE
