Updates 1.7.1 and higher

I enjoyed every aspect of the game, but every patch makes my game load less and less and laggier. Not even sure whats going on anymore. Anyway seriously hope 1.7.1 becomes a patch fix that will make the loading lagg gone. At some point I plan to stop patching my game and ignore any future patches since I want to enjoy the game. If others are playing a laptop or something, it will most likely effect them more and throw them off.

My advice for squad is to please test there patch on low end computers, test it on different graphics card and make sure the new updates doesnt effect the pliability of the game pc. It already effected mine to the point of frustration. Hope this makes sense.

@ShadowElite We're probably going to be getting 1.7.1 to provide support for the upcoming Breaking Ground DLC, so hopefully they'll include some bugfixes and optimisation for the base game alongside that.

My guess is that the new versions with the new textures/texture variants mean that the game now needs to load more data from disk during startup, and that this is the main cause of the slowdown.  Have you tried turning the graphics options down (eg texture resolution, and anti-aliasing)?  Do you have plenty of ram?  (If KSP is causing your computer to swap to disk that will make the things laggy). 

I'm also on a 9 year old PC, a i7-860 with a HD5770 graphics card, and I haven't noticed a decrease in performance or an increase in loading time.  (But I have 12 GB of ram, and I turn the graphic options down).
