As the title says, I am brand new to KSP, but specifically want to explore rocket launches from discovered exoplanets. I would like some tips on getting started asap on doing just this. Any add-ons or mods that would help me get going on accurately simulating such attempts would be welcome! Thank you!

Welcome to the forum (and probably the game :D)

So, you want to go to planets?

My personal tip, learn three things.

  1. How to get to orbit and deorbit
  2. Interplanetary travel and maneuver nodes
  3. This one important, not forgetting parachutes and ladders.

The first two are easy, the last one is memory.

Try landing on Minmus first, not Mun, cause of delta-v, or the total speed needed to get to the object.

"If you can get your ship into orbit, you're halfway to anywhere."

Robert Heinlein , quoted on page 194 of A Step Farther Out by Jerry Pournelle

Remember it, but if you know the transition time, you are no 3/4 of a way to anywhere.

There is a great Delta-v map, made by Kowgan.

You'll use it a lot.

have a great flight.

P.S. if you need help press the quote button and write what help you need :D
