quick career question about money

is there a screen somewhere that I can't find that shows where the money comes from and goes?  All i see is what is currently in my 'bank'.  I started the game with X money, built a rocket (with no contract), flew and recovered it and ended up with pots more money then I started with.  Did someone just pay me for my stunt flight or do I have a secret stash of bitcoin somewhere?

You get money for the World's Firsts events, like launching your first vessel.  I believe they'll show up in your contract history or transmission log.

If you look in your "messaging app" (where all the contract stuff shows up in flight), it does actually contain all the payouts. However, you have to dig through it to find all of them.

That log does not contain contract penalties, or conversions due to "strategies" that are active in your admin building.

To get the full list of payments and debits, I think you either have to read your KSP.log text file, or look at the "Console" in the debug menu.
