A rover with steep requirements

Sorry If this belongs in spacecraft exchange...

I am in search of a rover design which can do many things, ideally using the medium size vehicle from tosh's cart mod. (but the truck is also a viable alternative)

* it must carry three kerbals.

* it must be able to tumble on the mun (or even Kerbin) at a speed of about 30 m/s without breaking crucial components.

* it must be able to right itself using robotic parts or legs

* It must be able to lift it's own weight on the mun, and cary enough fuel for a landing on the moon and departure back to kerbin.

* Everything but the parachute must decouple from the command pod at the final stage.

* It must be balanced

any mods allowed, but I'd be very impressed by a solution using only cart, robotics, and novapunch

Can you design such a vehicle? what's your best shot?

nope to hard for me sorry. your best bet is to make a vehicle and instead of a return vehicle bilt save some weight and not put it there. instead build a lander with a empty pod and bring it to the mun to exchange crew.

That's just a general guideline. There have been other challenges where the creator didn't do it, but it has something obviously possible.

Well I did not have my pictures when I made this thread, but here is my best shot so far

I lost mechjeb and had to manually land on my wheels 4 times to slow down. I'm hoping the next iteration will be something more durable. I definitely have the payload capacity to bring more of those ridiculously strong and light legs, but Maybe that's not the solution. I know I could just cfgedit them, but that's just not satisfying.

Here's a stock go-anywhere rover concept I've been playing with:

I'm not sure about its performance on the Mun but it can go ~13-14m/s on kerbin (also untippable).

-Could probably meet most of your requirements if modified properly.

Yeah, maybe how-to would be better for this. I was just hoping to see some designs that we sort of crash proof. I like to drive fast n_n
