GoldForest
I just had a thought... will we get on pad refueling? Especially on colony pads? In the trailer, they show us landing on a pad at the end. Now, this is obviously meant to be a reusable craft as it does having landing legs. So, is it too far of a stretch to say they will give us on pad refueling? Or will we have to recover the vessel then relaunch it up to the colony/resupply ship? I think you can launch stuff from colonies like in extrasolar launchpads, (in the trailer you can see two rockets launching coming from the two colonies), but the craft also looked like it was some kind of supply craft, so maybe you have to shuttle in supplies from other places? Well, they say we're going have to bring supplies from Kerbin until the colony could become self-sufficient. My question is, can the landing pads/launch pads refuel rockets that land on them. We know nothing about it though, you're probably going to have to wait until we get more information

pschlik
The way I see it, there will probably be a system analogous to recovering a vessel on Kerbin in KSP 1. If you have a colony with a VAB on a planet (maybe you'd also need a specialized 'recovery building' too, who knows), then anything which lands on that planet could be recovered to the colony. Much like landing on Kerbin, you would get more stuff back from landing the closer you are to the main facility (and landing on the launch pad would be full recovery) except in this case, you don't get money back, you get stuff like metal and rocket parts. To "refuel" the ship, you simply re-launch it, using the resources recovered from the prior landing plus new fuel. Or they might just make a system where being on launch pad=instant fuel transfer with the click of a button. IDK. Still think we will have a recovery system though, and that does the job good enough. I feel a on the pad refueling system, at least for colony launch/landing pads, should be implemented. Detach cargo, refuel, fly up to the resupply ship and head back to kerbin to resupply. You can already refuel a landed ship in KSP1, in several different ways, both stock and with mods. Stock: Drive a Klaw-equipped fuel rover to the landed ship. The landed ship has ISRU and refuels itself. Dock a fuel rover to the landed ship, provided it has a port aimed the right way Mods (a few ways among many) Kerbal Konstructs turns the static fuel tanks at bases into functional facilities Hyperedit allows cheating any resource into any tank Various base mods have wireless resource transfer within certain distances. Land a ship at the base and the base (provided it already has the resource) can shift some of the ship KAS connections if you want Kerbals to drag fuel hoses around

No claw vehicles, no wireless transfer, no mining, just the fuel that comes from the base's fuel tank storages.
