Vocosol
So, I apologize if this has been asked before or if it's an extremely silly question, but I just bought 0.16 the other day so I'm still new to all of this. Basically, how many Kerbalnauts are there/ is there a limit? In my attempts at Mun landing, Spaceplanes, and other shenanigans I've probably had at least 20 of them meet their unfortunate demise, and I'm wondering if there'll ever come a time when I run out of pilots for the space program.Anyone know? Thanks in advance!
Vanamonde
1) They get recycled. Dead guys will come back after a while. 2) They are randomly generated with name syllables, and there's about 5000 possible names. But even that's not a hard limit, because there are occasional duplications. In short, you don't have to worry about running out.

Glad to know I'm not going to run out of test subjects- though I do think I'll start being more careful with my pilots.
Tommygun
I didn't realize they used randomly generated name syllables, that would explain the "Bob My Kerman" that showed up in the cockpit of one of my rockets.
PictoKong
When they added persistance, Harvester also added more pilots then jeb bill and bob, and the only way to make sure it doesnt run out was to randomly generate them from a list of prefix and suffix. Funny fact: there is some name that will sound very alike. Got egbard and cogbard in the same cockpit once!
