Sentinal contract: Loosing the already approved designated orbit

Recommended Posts

Hello KSP Community,

I have a problem with Sentinal telescope contracts in Career Mode. I am running only visual mods (Astronomer's Visual Pack).

Here is what happens: I am adjusting my satellite carrying the Sentinal telescope to the designated orbit and get the expected confirmation (the highlighted target orbit disappears and the contract is showing a green check icon in front of the "reach the designated orbit...") requirement. All is good and expected until here. However, as soon as I am switching to another vessel or back to Tracking Station the already achived designated orbit of my Sentinel telescope get lost. The highlighted target orbit is back and in my contract the former green checked requirement ""reach the designated orbit" is grey and not-checked again. When I am switching back to the Sentinel telescope satellite, the requirement is achived again. I can repeat this many times - it's always the same. I also tried to adjust the orbit slightly, to lower the allowed deviation - but no success.

Never had such a strange problem and hoping for your help.

The confirmation of whether or not you have achieved the required orbit is per vessel. So when you switch away from the correct vessel to a different one, yes, it will show that the new vessel is not in the designated orbit.

This is not a problem or an error. Just leave the correct vessel in the correct orbit, activate the sentinel telescope on it, and wait. Over a long period of time (maybe up to a year), that sentinel will automatically find asteroids, send you update messages, and complete the contract.

Things I bypassed in past launches when dealing with satellites contracts:

- A piece short of completing (usualy a termometer that i didn't read in the contract when making the rocket)

-It's the orbit, but backwards

-It's the orbit, but it must be stationary to something on the ground. It should be spotted in the map screen.

-I made the sat using mod parts and/or using KIS to engineer it in space. The game said it was not a sat :(

-Wait 10 seconds before switching

-The sat actually lacks antenna or panels.

Read the contract carefully!
