Kerbals are Cheap Mission Statment:

We here at ‘Kerbals are Cheap’ understand that Space Exploration Technology is expensive and life is cheap. Our goal is to make as much money as possible using the lowest cost parts and to return said parts home with as much usability as possible. We will always consider the equipment to be worth more than the staff.

Mission 1.1: Launch Your First Vessel

zB0rx2B.jpg

There is almost no way Pilot-1 can screw this up. Just push the Big Red Button and steer the vessel eastward.

QPOxdDr.jpg

That's Northeast Pilot. Seriously? How hard is it to point the joystick at the big letter E?

QBJmZW1.jpg

Well he at least managed to active the parachute and save the equipment.

MMs3t6T.jpg

Adequate job Pilot-1, you aren't fired yet.

Financial Statement

Starting Funds: $21,768
Advances:    $1,008
Costs:    -$3,822
R&D Costs: Thermometer -$2,500
Completion Awards: $1,872
Extras:   36 Science
Recovery Reimbursement: $3,638
Final Funds:    $100,156

Mission Notes: Our Calculations say we should have $21,964… Where did the other $78,192 come from? Obviously that was donations and are completely tax deductible.

So instead of boasting how few kerbals you kill, you will be boasting of how many you kill?

Dear linuxgurugamer,

We here at 'Kerbals are Cheap' are not murders.
Of course we take the safety of our pilots very seriously.
We simply take the safety of the expensive components more seriously.

Sincerely,
The Director of KaC Public Relations

Mission 2.1: Test LV-T45 “Swivel” Landed at Kerbin

GDLuWNx.jpg

This is a bit more complicated than our last contract. The Pilot needs to launch, activate the parachute, then use the engine to slow down further.

qDi31k7.jpg

If the Pilot fails to slow down enough, that will damage the engine...

tIoTiyU.jpg

And he'll be fired...

pnSwm9d.jpg

Here it comes...

tGfKcLy.jpg

Decent work Pilot-1, but that final burn could have been more efficient. The fuel you wasted is coming out of your paycheck.

Starting Funds:

$100,156

Advances:

$1,500

Costs:

-$3,272

R&D Costs: FL-T100 Fuel Tank:

KaC Mission 3.1: Survey and TD-12 Decoupler test

jsUgHVy.jpg

This is a tricky contract. Pilot-1 must take a report several miles to the south, land in the water and test a new decoupler. I don't know why they wanted to test it in the water, but they're paying us for it so who cares.

t0LdWVx.jpg

What the hell are you doing Pilot-1? Do you even know how to fly?

SNsZGOX.jpg

You failed your primary objective Pilot-1, you're fired!

Financial Statement

Starting Funds:

$104,371

Advances:

$6,684 & $4,860

Costs:

-$5,172

R&D Costs: AV-T1 Winglet

-$1,500

R&D Costs: Mk2-R Parachute

-$2,800

R&D Costs: LV-T45 “Swivel” engine

-$3,500

Completion Awards:

$12,398 & $12,757

Extras:

1.6 Science

Recovery Reimbursement:

$4,920

Final Funds:

$120,620

Mission Notes: Technically there was no way to complete the main objective and the secondary objective was complete, so maybe Pilot-1 shouldn’t be fired.

KaC Mission 3.2: Survey, Attempt #2

GNXPXj1.jpg

Our techs assure us that this model has the capability to make it to the survey site.

9ASzYEE.jpg

Pilot-1, your launch is far better than last time. I guess you can learn from your mistakes.

19766pn.jpg

WTH Pilot-1. We didn't have the contract for going suborbital... You now owe us for that contract!

nVGrKif.jpg

Pretty pictures won't get you out of paying Pilot-1.

You are Damaging the Equipment!

KaC Mission For Science: Gather High Altitude Science

z1fw3DN.jpg

Ok Pilot-2. Hope you're better than Pilot-1 was.

IQl89sn.jpg

Nice launch, but I know better than to think a good launch means a good Pilot.

QrjBeqf.jpg

Pilot-2 is taking data readings from a High Altitude location. We don't like funding these expeditions, but sometimes they are necessary.

UBnHUbZ.jpg

You better not ruin the vessel like Pilot-1 did.

Ok Pilot-2. This is the run Pilot-1 failed so miserably at. Don't fail us.

XeqWwB3.jpg

It is a simple task. Fly to the marker and do a report. How Pilot-1 failed is beyond me.

RvJ4NU0.jpg

He didn't have a plane, but he still failed.

jL1UvW2.jpg

Wait? Your done already.

1sXn2I6.jpg

Well, well Pilot-2. You landed nicely and even got extra science. Are you trying for a raise? Because you're not getting one.

KaC Mission for Science: Run Tests in Space

R9OrVl5.jpg

Another one of those expensive but oh so necessary Science runs.

tb9lkPa.jpg

Separating the stages is cringe worthy, but I'm told that not separating is why Pilot-1 died.

qr5G81C.jpg

If the Parachutes burn up, we lose the booster. And Pilot-2 gets fired.

YUb5Gez.jpg

Pilot-2 has displayed the appropriate equipment procedures yet again. Yay Pilot-2.

65KdO07.jpg

And there you see the booster gently coming down. Then some Idiot in mission control hit the time warp and the booster accelerated into the ground. He's fired by the way. And now we here at 'Kerbals are Cheap' have a job opening. Please apply online.

KaC Mission 5.1: Survey at Bobak’s Resignation

vNCLPpO.jpg

This new and untested plane has a rocket engine on its rear to propel the Pilot to new heights.

FLV8xo3.jpg

What are you doing Pilot-2? The plane is not suppose to do that.

1RVwAME.jpg

At least you have the good sense to save the equipment.

7zr8F78.jpg

You're still fired.

UdP1q79.jpg

Reducing damage won't save your job.

KQiMlje.jpg

Launch of the Mun-Sci-1 has gone off without a hitch.

8ZiyTyc.jpg

Aaaaannnnd... It's veering off coarse. What the Hell?

VFMcwQt.jpg

Booster packs have been dropped. I'm told that this is necessary and is not a waste of money. I'm told a lot of things I don't agree with.

TgSIj6F.jpg

Complete and total failure of the mission. I hope you're happy Pilot-2, you really messed this one up.
