Freezing on Scene Change

Recommended Posts

My scene change load times have began to drag on ever since I updated to 1.8.1, along with kopernicus. At first it was bearable, maybe 1-2 minutes for 200 parts. Now It wont even load crafts greater that 200 parts to the runway or launchpad. FPS is not an issue I can get it loaded, maybe 15-30 fps for a craft that size. Is it possible that the craft is corrupted instead? Below is my mod list.

Three different MM DLLs, that a very good recipe for getting problems. Next, MiniAVC is broken since 1.8.x, you should get rid of it, either manually or using this mod:

Also, can you please provide some more information as outlined here:

From your post, I can't see even the basics, like what KSP version you're using, and what mod versions.

Ah, my bad, I am running 1.8.1 and pretty sure everything is up to date, When I moved to 1.8.1 from 1.7.3 I did a complete reinstall and did not have these issues until. I am one windows 64bit running 64bit ksp through steam.

I looked at one log and saw that I couldn't load my vessel from the tracking station because opengl couldn't load textures, so that's one thing down. The log provided is me trying to load a different craft from the SPH to runway. The game froze and did not load.

As I said, and I can see that from your log too, you're running three different versions of Module Manager, that's a recipe for disaster. You log says MM 2.8.1, that's a very old version, current version is 4.1.3

Also, you're still using MiniAvc which is broken.

I mentioned those issue earlier, you didn't clean up your installation?

I now removed all MM except the most recent. I deleted MiniAVC but didn't know ZeroMiniAVC was needed to remove it. Now it loads, but the load times are long, maybe like 3-6 minutes, longer than it seems it should be.

I can upload another log in a bit recreating the issue if that helps.

If you don't already use CKAN for managing your mods, I'd strongly recommend you get it.

I also recommend you copy your whole KSP folder to a different location, Steam's auto update feature can easily mess up your KSP installation.

Might be worth your while to remove all your mods and re-add them via CKAN, that way no double Module Manager DLLs, you'll automatically get the most recent mod versions for your KSP version, and automatically fulfill all mod dependencies.

Ok, so I reinstalled everything via CKAN (actually like 80% of them, the rest were done manually) and I'm still getting the same issues, sometimes freezing on the transition from SPH to the runway but usually 1-3min load times. Any other ideas to try?
