feral_fenrir
This issue can be resolved by using Blackrack's Textures Unlimited fork that's linked in the Deferred GitHub Blackrack's response regarding this: https://www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/s/XFjGFxyniU

I wonder what I’m doing wrong than. I have the TU version that blackrack recommends. The Fork version or whatever or TU. But I’m still getting that see through transparent effect with magpie mods. Luckily you can fix this manually with a text editor that has a find all/replace all function. VS Code works great for me, you can add the whole Magpie folder and it'll go through every files. For the fix, find every "SSTU/PBR/Metallic" (without quotes) and replace with "TU/Metallic", do that again with "SSTU/PBR/StockMetallicBumped" replace with "TU/Metallic". I might have to give this a shot. I would like to be able to have shiny looking parts while also keeping Restock and Deferred.
RileyHef
Glad to see Magpie is getting some attention again as I think it can really shine (pun...intended?) again if it can play nicely with the new deferred rendering mod. That said, I had to remove Magpie from my game files as the configs seem to produce a very mismatched look, especially when using some of the modded configs like restock and Near Future. The default white textures often have varying levels of shine, reflection, and brightness. Tsome parts look like a shiny white, others look like a stainless steel, etc. I think this has already been called out earlier in the thread. This makes even the stock crafts in the game look much less unified. I have tried to clean up part configs myself but since it can only be done from the config file I quickly became tired of the cycle of making minor adjustments and rebooting the game countless times to tune each part. I gave up eventually. I may strip down the configs to only include certain parts such as engines and landing legs (I'm not a fan of the default matte grey look these parts have) while keeping a more unified look. I really like the shiny stock look that Magpie offers, but the inconsistencies are a pain and ultimately not worth it to me. With TURD being worked on by other users to support major mods like Near Future and Restock I feel this mod will become unnecessary down the line, but I still think that this mod has greater potential with deferred working alongside it if i can dial in thr part configs better. Oh my god. This is awesome. Thank you thank you thank you!!! This is first time ive been able to use Deferred as well as Restock+ and also be able to get the shiny texture effects. Awesome!! Tip for any future comments: Injunctions of any kind are very much frowned upon. Take it easy my friend. I myself postponed the use of deferred rendering, since Madpie mod is currently heavier on the balance from my perspective
