Rescale for 1.9.x

After having watched "Wings of Honneamise" for the umpteenth time and marveling at those aircraft, that rocket, and forgetting each time about that whole [spoiler redacted, ed.] set of scenes. I'm gonna ask. Are there any mods that rescale the Kerbol system to real sizes that work with 1.9?Though I'm guessing that if they work with 1.8 they'll work with 1.9.

Most of what I'm quickly finding appears to have stalled at 1.4-ish. Either for lack of dev work or by choice.

One specific mod that resized the Kerbol system is JNSQ ( Je Ne Sais Quoi ) which uses a 2.7x scale without needing the Rescale mod.  However, it does require Kopernicus (like all planet packs) so you'll have to wait a little while till everything gets updated.  But it is well worth the wait both for the beauty of the mod & the added challenge.

Most (all?) planet packs use Kopernicus, and Kopernicus isn't compatible with 1.9 yet- it only got updated to work with 1.8 a short while before 1.9 was released, so it might take a while yet. In the meantime, you can either play 1.9 with just the stock solar system, or use 1.8 with whatever planets you like but without the newest features and graphics updates.

There are a few mods that rescale the stock system, but a quick look at them shows many are only compatible with KSP 1.3.1 and earlier, I don't see anything that will work with 1.8 and give you a rescaled Kerbolar system except JNSQ, which does some pretty heavy surgery on all the planets (it's what I'm using right now), you might have more luck with 1.7.3 or earlier.

So if I relax my version requirements... but not too much.

Is there a "kit" available for Kopernicus that rescales by 10x, and the more recent versions of KSP? I wasn't finding one on the GitHub for it.

There is indeed. To get rescaled stock planets in KSP 1.8.1, you will need:

https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus

Kopernicus, the planetary system modifier mod.

https://github.com/Sigma88/Sigma-Dimensions

Sigma Dimensions, does planetary rescaling.

https://github.com/Galileo88/Rescale/releases

Rescale provides configs for Sigma Dimensions at a variety of planetary scales, all the way up to 10.625x which apparently makes Kerbin the same size as real Earth

Downloading the latest release for each and dropping them into KSP 1.8.1 worked when I tried it last week. If you've never played with a rescaled solar system then I suggest you start at 2.5x or 3.2x scale as the stock parts work well at this size (apparently they're actually 2.5x scaled for the stock system so well-balanced for rescales of about 2.5x), for larger sizes like 6.4x or 10x you'll need some additional mods such as SMURFF or Realism Overhaul to make parts work properly.
