Discovery Science Bonus -- Survey Scan (Polar)

"World's First" not showing up.

 

-- I read that when you do a polar orbit scan with a M700 Survey Scanner you can get a Discovery Science Bonus - aka a 'World's First' achievement and associated science.

So I did a scan of Kerbin - but nothing happened.  I'm sure I missed some key step - or did something out of order... but what?

 

EDIT: Scanner activated, world turned pink, etc

The discovery science for an M700 scan is not a World's First achievement. World's First achievements give you funds, anyway -- not science.

When you perform the scan, you should see a standard screen message telling you that you got some science for it.
