angeldust
Hello dear all,so I'm pretty new to this game but had my expiriences (the first Mun-landing was almost orgasmic ) but now I'm stuck.See, now I want to try Orbital rendevouz and stuff and I'm hitting some unexpected problems.I want to get my craft in ancircular orbit around kerbin. But When I want to adjust my Apo- and Periapsis I always miss the point where I want to be because I'm looking at the map, betting close, and then I have to cut the thrust, so I have to SWITCH BACK to normal mode and hit my keyboard very hard to cut the engines... yeah so I normally miss the point for (for example) 100 km about kerbin.Do you have any tips how to cirumvent this problem? Maybe a possibility to steer and control throttle or is there a nifty tool to calculate my speed for orbit (so I don't have to change to map view)?Hope you can help me.BestJonathan
sjwt
Goto your map view and click on the little triangle in the bottom middle of the screen, it will bring up the navball and you can control the ship from there for everything but starting a new stage!now you can physical watch the AP and PE! MarkoRagnos
^this. And then, remember the X key to cut throttle to 0 immediately.
EndlessWaves
Also, you only need to tap X to set throttle to 0 rather than holding down control.

angeldust
Uhm... where is the little triangle? I can't find it...
Nibb31
Use RCS to gently thrust prograde and retrograde at apoapsis and periapsis to fine tune your orbit.
EndlessWaves
Uhm... where is the little triangle? I can't find it...It's just the tab at the bottom of the nav screen, it's the same one you get if you minimise the navball normally.
Fuzzy Dunlop
If your playing in windowed mode the bottom of the screen sometimes gets cut-off (which hides the little triangle). So you might have to move the window up a bit.
Vanamonde
The decimal on the keypad will also call up the navball on map view.
vexx32
Or any view the navball's enabled on, for that matter. The period/decimal key on the keypad is the default mapped key for show/hide navball
