Where the game is installed?

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I try to make an utility to rename kerbals, revive 'em and so on...
I would like to open saves folder... and so on, but I can't find in windows registry any reference to the installation path.

Can you  please give me some advice? :)

It depends. I guess you can right-click the shortcut you use to open the game, and select "properties" at the bottom.

Within that folder, there's another folder called "saves". The file you want to edit is .sfs you don't need to worry about .loadmeta

The .sfs are really big, just press F3 and search the current name of that kerbal

(Edit) If you mean to modify them from C#, I suggest string Kerbal.crewMemberName from https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/api/class_kerbal.html

The game running dir is "KSPUtil.ApplicationRootPath " but opening and editing the save file from a mod is a bad idea. Edit the value in game like shown in the prvious post.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
