Well are you sure you want to be an astronaut?

I came across this picture of the next ISS crew on board a Soyuz space craft.

It takes about two to three days after liftoff to reach the station.

I thought as a kid the yearly summer three day road trip between California and Oklahoma was bad.

I probably go crazy after a day and eat the other two.

I suspect that's a bad angle which is making it look more cramped than it is...

If this image is actually of the inside of a Soyuz craft like google images says it is then I suppose I am right.

That's still looks smaller than the Datsun 210 my parent used to own (shivers; no air conditioning; Death Valley; don't ask).

There is also a small room behind it and that's most likely the one I'd be locked up in.

I can get pretty claustrophobic myself, but I reckon a flight in there is well worth it just to be in space for any length of time.

Looks moderately spacious, actually, and I'm not precisely small... I'd ride in it if the destination is the ISS.

Sure, in a heartbeat. I think "it's neither easy nor comfortable" is simply part of the understood job description of "astronaut" around here.

I wonder if all of the switches are locked into position just in case they get bumped. I imagine that would be a big problem in tight quarters, unless of course, they are strapped in the ENTIRE trip....

While in Zero-G, cramped spaces feel much larger because you are not struggling to move around. In fact, that cabin is plenty large enough. I would gladly go to the ISS in it.

I've seen a reentry module up close (it was from Soyuz TM-34, if I'm not mistaken) and I was also quite impressed by how small it was. I also think I probably wouldn't pass the tests because of that, long before they put me in the centrifuge.... but, we must remember that right after launch and up to reentry they had the ball module on top too!

(The total habitable volume is larger than Apollo, right?)

I've touched and seen the Apollo 9 Command Module "Gumdrop"

It looked pretty spacious inside.
