Anyone can show me what does a "Gilly Ridgeline" looks like?

Recommended Posts

Well, they are pretty obviously not like regular surface/ground. And since they are not tied to a fixed position, you need to wander around util you find it.

However, from the wiki:

Quote

...surface features are similar to terrain scatter. Terrain scatter tends to be more prolific and can make it difficult to identify surface features. The largest difference is surface features can be interacted with, while terrain scatter allows objects to pass right through.

Which means that is a good idea to disable terrain scatter while looking for surface features. Wasting time trying to inspect a mirage is not fun.

PS: sorry for wasting moderation time by reporting a "double post" which was actually a glitch with my browser. ...or I'd rather say "D'oh!"

Am I right that this Gilly Ridgeline thing cannot be picked up by a Kerbal, it is only for scanning by one of those rover arms, right?

Oh, I see the wiki page does say which Surface Features can be picked up by Kerbals. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Surface_features

So if you don't have one of those rover scanning arms, then these big features are not worth any Science points to visit, right?
