Mission 1 Details

Launch Time/Date/Site: Y1, D1, 01:17:01 from KSC Launchsite

Crew: N/A

Payload: Science Jr. Biological Capsule and Probodobodyne OKTO

Primary Mission Goal: Return the Science Jr. safely

Secondary Mission Goals: Retrieve scientific data

Outcome: Success! 

Details: Liftoff as planned. SRB cutoff nominal at 01:17:41. Vehicle executed unplanned gravity turn, but the spacecraft systems maintained control. Separation of the biological payload occured shortly afterwards. Science Jr. data was taken from apoapsis (8.5km). Apoapsis data was wiped a few seconds after it was taken. Parachute deployment successful. Vehicle splashed down downrange from the KSC and was recovered. 

Mission 2 Details

K-7 Orbital Test Flight

Launch Time/Date/Site: Y1, D1, 01:27:28 from KSC Launchsite

Crew: Valentina Kerman, Pilot

Primary Mission Goal: Achieve orbit and return safely with crew

Secondary Mission Goal: Return scientific data from orbit

Outcome: Partial Success! (Mission goals not achieved, crew recovered safely)

Details: Liftoff as planned. Spacecraft began gravity turn. Gravity turn was wobbly and spacecraft nearly lost control, however, control was achieved. Spacecraft flew up to 35km, when spacecraft lost control following stage separation. Vehicle's service module was jettisoned and control was re-established. Parachutes deployed successfully. Spacecraft was thrown into a polar trajectory, and was set for a landing about 50km north of the KSC. Vessel landed safely and entered into a roll (The Onion capsule was used). Vehicle stopped and Valentina Kerman recovered.

KASA plans to continue its human space program as well as its space exploration initiatives.
