Add crew to a ship using cheats?

Hi all, had a good flight to minmus, but as I was moving Jebodiah on the surface, at 3.0 m/s, he just went poof, and I have no recent quicksaves.

is there a way to save edit/cheat him back into the lander?

Check your saves backup folder.

Probably the easiest way is to wait for him to respawn, then Alt-F12 him to the surface nearby. Or into orbit and jetpack land him... I've not used the landing cheat yet so don't know its capabilities but I've landed from orbit with jetpacks and it's pretty simple.
