Save Edits; New planets, Saves, and reccomendations

I'm pretty sure we've all done this for particularly frustrating missions; gone into our saves, and played with the positions of our ships. Now, since theres new planets, I'd like to see and here YOUR numbers, and favorite orbits of the new planets

Sorry that no one replied to you! I think that no one wanted to respond with "No, we just fly our ships." I know there are others who've edited ships into specific orbits, and was leaving it to them to reply.

Yeah I haven't really built anything I feel needed to be edited into orbit... maybe eventually but with the new docking mods even space stations are easier.

Never edited positions. I've edited "Debris" to "Stage Debris" because I think debris makes it sound like the rocket blew up.

I usually dont save file edit my ships unless thier big, hard to get to orbit, or if im just messin around. But as for your question, Duna has the number of 6. Thats all I know.

I generally edit things OUT rather than IN.

Before we got the multiple career options, I always kept a back-up save file though... and I have on occasion used it to put a craft that suffered a 'spontaneous existence failure' back into the correct orbit.

What I'd like to know is just how people successfully edited their ships from the pad into space. I've...tried this, in a rather inelegant way, but it tends to either cause explosions, or completely ruin my staging.

As for it being "cheating", (a) it's a game and ( we don't have docking yet. So yep, cheat until the mechanisms are there to do it the legit way. No shame.

I about to try it in order to get a large Mun base built.

I've also used it to rearrange my communication satellites that have drifted over time in Geosynchronous orbits.
