Two pilots, one cockpit?!

actually, having 2 pilot does help in some situations, because if you have them, you can control a probe that has no direct connection to the ksc but that is connected to your ship. say for example you are orbiting tylo with your manned ship, and you don't have a signal back to kerbin, but you have two pilots on board; with those, you can keep full control of, for example, a lander on tylo.

but aside from this very niche situation, no, it does not give benefits. even for this special case, i'm not sure if it is normal or if it is something specific to the kerbalism mod

That's really cool, I had seen that feature on the Remote Guidance Unit but I didn't realize there was also this way to do probe control.
