My game won't open

I'm sending this because my game just won't open when I try to start it (my computer has much more than the minimum requirements), but whenever I try to open it it crashes on the home screen and closes on its own, please if you can help, I will be grateful, I love this game

Windows 10 home 64 bits

AMD A4-4000 APU (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz

Gt 730 4gb

8GB ram

motherboard: ASRock FM2A55M-HD+ R2.0 (CPUSocket)

I can't attach files.

And they have been merged into the same topic.   Asking the same question in different threads will lead to confusion, and doesn't really help anyone.  

We'll still need some log files, as stated in the link I provided, please upload the log files to a hosting site (such as google drive or dropbox) and then link them here. 

But for starters, if you purchased the game on Steam, you can verify the files and have it fix any corrupted ones.

It seems your video card / drivers might be throwing an error.  But aside from checking to make sure all your drivers are updated, I don't know enough about the issue to give you a definite answer.   Try that, and somebody with far more knowledge of the issue should be around shortly to answer the question.   Good luck.

yes, i suspected it and tried to update but every time i try a message appears "this version of windows is not compatible"

Let's start with the oldie but goodie. There's a reason it's one of the Rule Ones after all. Delete the entire KSP game folder and redownload it. Given it looks like you are pulling it through Steam  the folder will be in something similar to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

And to check on another detail, when you try to update the video drivers it fails? Where are you pulling the drivers from? A quick bit of googling shows that the Nvidia 730 GT drivers and a couple of version of Win 10 don't get along.

If I uninstall all folders, how do I install again? is it the same as uninstalling the game and installing it again?

Not really the same. uninstalling and re-installing can leave files and folders hanging around. Sometimes not a problem, sometimes those files are the problem. 

The strictly correct way of doing it is to uninstall, delete the folder if it is still there, then reinstall. However, given the self contained nature of KSP just deleting the folder will work.  As for reinstalling, the same way you installed in the first place.

So as others already mentioned, I would also recommend to update the video driver. You should get it from the Nvidia website:

Search for:

Download Type: Game Ready Driver (GRD)

This should bring up driver version 461.72 from 25th Feb 2021.

 

If this fails for any reason, you can also try to run the game in dx9 or open gl instead by adding a startup parameter to the game properties.

To do this, right click the game in your steam library, go to "properties" and you will find the "launch options" in the "general" menu:

This field will be empty in your case but you can type in "-force-opengl" or "-force-d3d9" (only one of them, not both at the same time). Try open gl first, I'm not sure how well dx9 is actually supported anymore.

You can just close the properties window then and launch the game, crossing fingers that it will help

I just did what you said and it didn't work gave the same error, is there anything else I can do? please

I tried but it didn't work, it always keeps giving the same error :C 
And the driver I can't update it keeps saying: "this version of windows is not compatible" even if I try it on the NVIDIA website

I've suggest two possible solutions (updating driver and startup parameter), did both fail? If the startup parameter failed as well, I would love the see the log file from this try Especially the try for open-gl would be nice, since I'm still not sure if dx9 is actually still supported and the command probably doesnt do anything anymore

The log file is gone since I uninstalled and installed it again, before there was a KSP.log now it is gone
and now?

I tried to put it in the explorer and it didn't work, it keeps loading infinitely and it never opens, or it opens a random chrome window, it doesn't work at all

Like I said, the player.log is more detailed on one of the details is the driver version:

Version:  4.5.0 NVIDIA 391.35

and your version is ancient

You said, you're not able to update your graphics driver but I don't understand at which point the update progress actually fails. Would you mind to explain it a bit more detailed, maybe add a screenshot?

Você disse que não é possível atualizar o driver gráfico, mas não entendo em que ponto o progresso da atualização realmente falha. Você se importaria de explicar um pouco mais detalhadamente, talvez adicionar uma captura de tela?

Basically he starts installing normal, then when he arrives at a part called "Checking windows compatibility" he says: "This version of windows is not compatible" and "This graphics driver did not find compatible graphics hardware "just that
