Basesixty
I was thinking that a cool idea to come with ksp 2 would be the option to scale the star systems to whatever you like so that people who want more of a challenge don’t have to deal with buggy mods or have to stay a few versions behind to use something like rss. I’d be happy to here your thoughts on this
PlutoISaPlanet
Probably not going to happen, but planets like Ovin that are super kerbins will challenge you by being much more massive. I seem to recal that they said this sort of change would be easier to do, so no need to kopernicus... it may not be an in game menu option though. Also, a planet like Ovin, that requires interstellar travel to reach, is not going ot be the same challenge as starting on a 3 or 4x kerbin, for instance. By the time you get to ovin, you'll have purple-space magic drives, orion drives, fusion drives, etc. That will be completely different from getting off 4x kerbin with SRBs and methalox engines. I’d be happy to here your thoughts on this I’d have to disagree with you. The focus of the game is around the Kerbals, and their technological advancements and that. If the devs were then making differently scaled modes of the game, then it takes focus away from the base game and we would not have as good of a game and would not get as frequent updates. However, I wouldn’t worry as the modding system should be much more advanced and mods that do alter the scale of the game should be easier and safer to install, and should be better too. Good point after some thought I realized it may be best to leave it to the modders for things like sigma dimensions

Yep but since we have easily buildable custom spaceports I give 6 months to the game after release before someone comes up with a "alternative start" mod that makes you choose which planet or moon to start from. If the devs were then making differently scaled modes of the game, then it takes focus away from the base game I thought the focus of the game was around space exploration. The first game started without any actual kerbals (no eva mode). Kerbals are there to support the focus of space exploration, not be the focus themselves. This isn't the Sims with little green men. Different scales ties in to space exploration (and scaling it up makes it closer to reality), and is very easy to do. Its just a matter of applying a multiplier to a set of values. Dev resources are not infinite, I understand. Obviously any feature needs a cost/benefit analysis. I see a rescale feature as a very low cost feature, and judging by the popularity of rescale mods for KSP1, the benefit is significant. Of course, if they let modders do it, the cost to the devs is 0.
